I’ve been meaning to read these books in the right order, because any other way would seem too crazy, but I accidental skipped a bunch when I picked up this book. I thought I should wait to read it until I’m caught up on the story, but I figured what the hell? It was clear right from the beginning that I missed a TON of stuff, but for the most part I’m aware enough of what happens that I wasn’t completely lost.
The biggest thing for me was how relived I was to be reading a Green Lantern story that wasn’t about Hal. I didn’t realize how much I don’t really care for him. Kyle and Guy are way more interesting and way more fun characters. Given the chance I would read a Guy Gardener story over any of the other members.
I enjoyed this book well enough. It wasn’t super great, but it wasn’t bad by any means. Almost all of these GL books are another chapter in a much larger story, so it’s difficult to judge them on their own. There were some really cool moments though, and I would say this book is worth reading if you’re a GL fan.
